Leer in deze workshop alles over de nog vrij onbekende Japanse techniek : Kurinuki.

Geschikt voor beginners en gevorderden.

Deze workshop wordt gegeven in het Engels door Supatra Marsh.

What do we learn ?

Make basic kurinuki – shapes like :  yunomi, box with lid, sake pourer

Day 1 (half day) – Introduction to kurinuki, background and ethos; initial shaping of clay blocks; hollowing out clay blocks ready for carving; planning of your personal design for carving.

Day 2 (full day) – Demonstration of carving techniques; carving of your pieces.

Supatra Marsh is the maker behind Blank Earth. Her pottery takes inspiration from Asian ceramics and traditional handmade processes. She specialises in ‘kurinuki’, the Japanese art of carving away from a single block of clay, slowly revealing the ceramic form, producing unique, one-of-a-kind pots.

Voorwaarden

Ervaring met keramiek en is fijn, maar niet noodzakelijk. Ook zeer geschikt voor beginners.
